Join grassroots fashion collective We Wear The Trousers (WWTT) for this creative workshop to design our own collective Fashion Manifesto for Norwich. Taking the 10-point Fashion Revolution Manifesto as a starting point, we will engage our imagination and curiosity to picture a future Norwich where fashion has a positive impact on both people and planet.

We will be using a range of art materials and methods inspired by DIY approaches, including collage, printing, stamping, drawing, writing, scribbling and mark-making. You don't need any experience or knowledge of any of these things to take part, just willingness to give things a go, share your ideas and learn with the group.

We would like to ask your permission to use what you make during this workshop to form part of a We Wear The Trousers community zine that will (hopefully) be published in summer 2023, but you are very welcome to take part whether or not you are willing to allow this.

This workshop takes place during Fashion Revolution Week 2023, which marks the 10th anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, when 1,134 garment workers tragically lost their lives, and thousands more were injured after a factory building collapsed on April 24th, 2013. The theme for this year's Fashion Revolution Week is 'Manifesto for a Fashion Revolution'.

More About WWTT:

We Wear The Trousers is a Norfolk-based collective exploring ways to participate in fashion by enjoying the clothes we already have.

We believe that the most sustainable garment is the one that already exists, and we aim to empower people to keep clothing in use for longer, whether through mending, swapping, sharing or re-wearing.

We organise events, workshops, sharing networks and more across Norfolk- join the movement and become a Fashion Citizen!
